South Africans
win for the first time

St. Andrews, Scotland -- The South African Alfred Dunhill Cup team of Ernie Els, David Frost and Retief Goosen on Sunday defeated Sweden to win the Alfred Dunhill Cup. It is the first time South Africa has been victorious in the world teams competion. Earlier in the day Swedish player Joakim Haeggman fired a world record tying 9-under par 27, on the front nine at St. Andrews Old Course. This was on his way to defeating American player Justin Leonard in the mornings semifinal, 68 to 72.
