SCOTTSDALE,AZ,USA -- Jesper Parnevik finally wins a tournament on the US
PGA TOUR when he captures The Phoenix Open by three strokes.
Parnevik has been a runner-up five times on the US PGA TOUR but this time Jesper managed
to keep ahead of the rest,to be the second Swedish winner on the UStour.
Gabriel Hjertstedt was the first ,when he won The B.C OPEN in October -97
Parnevik got his largest pay-cheque ever,
$450.000 and moved to first place in the Bank Of America King of the swing competition.
The leading player on the moneylist after eight events gets a bonus of $100.000.
Tommy Amour III and Steve Pate both shoot a 64 to tie for second place together with Brent
Geiberger and
Tom Watson.
