Tiger
Wins at Augusta
Tiger Woods won the 2002 edition of the Masters
Tournament with solid play as his opponents
faltered on the all all important back 9 at
Augusta National on Sunday.
The new lengthened course at Augusta had a
considerable impact on results in despite of the
rain which softened the course during the week.
Tiger Woods has now won 3 Masters titles and has
his eyes set on his childhood dream of eclipsing
Jack Nicklaus's Masters record of 6 titles.
In
Anticipation of The Masters
The tradition continues at Augusta National in 2002.
The Augusta layout has undergone some changes since
last year's tournament with an increase in length on
a total of 9 holes. The yardage of the course
has increased from 6,985 to 7,270 yards.
The changes were made in an effort to keep the golf
course current. The result will most probably be
in long hitters dominating this years event.
